Penlon's Director of Innovation, Technology and Regulatory Affairs, Mary Ryan, was recently shortlisted for two awards in this year's Thames Valley Business and Community Awards. The winners were announced at a ceremony on Thursday, 25th January.
Of the 1100 nominees, Mary was chosen as a top three finalist in two categories, 'Innovator of the Year' and 'Lifetime of Achievement' Awards. Although Mary did not win those categories, the celebrations took an unexpected turn during the evening when she received the 'Special Recognition Award' for the body of work she has delivered over the years in the Health and Medtech Industries with a focus on the NHS Ventilator Challenge.
Mary said: "I was so proud to receive this accolade. I was beaming and sharing the story about all the work that we have done and achieved at Penlon."
Mary was joined for the evening by her colleague Dan Harrison, QARA Manager.
The evening was well attended, with the room full of fantastic businesses, worthy shortlisted nominees and winners, with a special keynote speaker, Fatima Whitbread MBE.
Mary added, 'It was a privilege to meet and speak to Fatima Whitbread, particularly as she was one of my childhood sporting heroes and a huge inspiration to me'.
Congratulations, Mary, on this unique and well-deserved award.
