On October 2nd, I will be running the London Marathon in memory of my younger sister, Charlotte, who sadly passed away from cervical cancer last November at the age of 27
As someone who loved running, running the London Marathon feels like the most appropriate way to honour her memory and celebrate her life
In addition to the runner’s high and blisters which accompany running 26.2 miles, I will be running to raise money for a great cause - Hospice in the Weald. This charity means a lot to me, as the place where Charlotte spent her final days with us. The hospice ensured Charlotte was comfortable and took care of my family and I, so all we had to do was focus on spending time together
You can find out more about Hospice in the Weald via my Just Giving page (link below)
I’m aiming to raise £2.5k (and am making good progress) and would very much appreciate any support towards this great cause
With an aim to cross the finish line in sub-four hours, training has been pretty gruelling so far, riddled with sore muscles and minor injuries. But nevertheless, I’m looking forward to the day and crossing the finish line (and celebrating if I can still stand!)
